Daily math this week was on adding and subtracting fractions. It was a successful daily math unit, as most students remembered how to complete these problems. In class our focus was on 2-step equations and distributive property this week. Below are the worksheets and notes that we covered this week.

Daily math was easier for the students today and didn't take very long. Next we went through the answers to the questions from yesterday together. We then learned how to multiply a whole number by a fraction. Once the students did a check for understanding and I felt they had a good grasp, they worked on a handout on today's focus.
***DON'T FORGET TO ENSURE LOWEST TERMS!!***

Daily math this week is on 1-step equations. This is a straight forward concept and it only took a couple examples for majority to remember. After daily math we went through the rules of multiplying normal fractions. I did a couple questions and then the students solved a couple from the board to check for understanding. Then for the remainder of class the students worked on a handout on today's lesson.

Daily math was a bit tougher as there was regrouping involved in our fraction concept today. It was a POD day, so the students were working on integer review from the textbook and I did some one on one work with some students on their integer quiz they just wrote on Tuesday.

Daily math was done to start us off as usual. Next we reviewed the Rule of Divisibility, Lowest Common Multiples and Greatest Common Factors. Having a good grasp on these concepts will lend itself to our next unit which is fractions very nicely. The students were given a handout and worked for the rest of class on it.

Daily math is on adding and subtracting unlike fractions this week. It was very straight forward and the students did well on this outcome. After that the students handed in their homework from Thursday this past week. I will mark it and hand it back tomorrow. For the rest of class the students worked on a handout that uses all operations while still keeping in mind order of operations. It is due tomorrow.

Daily math was straight forward as we are still on the topic of ensuring lowest terms. Next we corrected the homework from yesterday. Those who completed their homework did fairly well. We talked about where most people were making their mistakes and went through how to fix them. For the remainder of class we did some white board review and next level intro questions for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers.

Today we continued our ensuring lowest terms daily math topic. Most students are really grasping the concept. After daily math we did some review together on the white board on adding, subtracting and now introducing multiplying and dividing integers. There is still some errors with subtracting integers. The students were given a handout close to the end of the class that is homework and is due tomorrow!
***REMEMBER, WHEN SUBTRACTING INTEGERS ALWAYS ADD THE OPPOSITE!!!***

Today I handed out the course outline for this year. We went through this outline together as a class. I also mentioned this website and how it is their responsibility to stay on top of work and if they miss a class, to get all work they have missed. Tomorrow we will complete a blank 12 x 12 multiplication chart and then dive in to some review from last year to see what they can recall. Those of you who forgot to bring in a notebook for Daily Math....please bring one in A.S.A.P!!!
